War is hell… and I got a job!
So here’s the latest Beer Advocate piece. About being a beer critic and the hell of other people- blah blah blah.
I got a job! It’s a contract gig and only for 4-5 months, but it’s cool and interesting work. For the past week I’ve been working for Demiurge Studios doing UI for a secret project that is very secret and secretly very exciting!! It’s a great opportunity and I know I’m going to learn a lot from this experience. Oh and don’t worry. I haven’t completely abandoned Outlands. I have plans for my webcomic to be coming soon!

More digital painting
Playing around with flat brushes this time. Here’s my crappy rendering of Eric Powel’s the Goon.
And here’s a swat cop.

So I got laid off last week.
And it sucks.
But one thing I’ve discovered is that contentment kills creativity.
One Art Director who can draw, paint, and animate anything for hire here!
2 commentsWeekly Dig cover and a Beer Advocate spot
A couple pieces I’ve done in the past couple months.
This one was a cover for the Weekly Dig celebrating the purchase of our new pitcher John Lackey… and Easter. It was a rush piece, but I think it came out ok despite the frantic late night I spent on it.
And here’s the latest Beer Advocate illo which accompanied an article about making a show of beer slinging.
No commentsSome new stuff… finally
The last two Beer Advocate illustrations I did. Seasonal beers (again) and celebrating craft beer.
No commentsA bunch of stuff
I’ve been neglecting this blog lately. Obviously I’ve had my hands full with the kid, but I do admit to some laziness. With that said, here’s a dump of a bunch of pieces I’ve recently completed.
These are some spot illustrations I did for the Improper Bostonian’s Fall arts preview. Each person is someone known in Boston’s arts and culture scene. For example, Keith Lockhart (second from the last, in the tux) is the conductor for the Boston Pops.
Here’s the latest Beer Advocate piece. Obviously it’s about Thanksgiving.
And lastly, a fun personal piece that took way to long to finish. I’ve become a big fan of A Place to Bury Strangers and I got the idea of doing a poster that visually interpreted their ‘wall of sound’ approach.

A guy I drew at work the other day. I was playing with my new #4/1.2mm rapidograph and some prismacolor markers.
1 commentSeasonal beers
The latest Beer Advocate piece called for an illustration that showed the mixing of seasonal beers and how they seem to come earlier and earlier. Here, Fall is being supplanted by Winter.
